About Us
ILGIA operates as a non-profit organization. Meetings are open to all criminal justice personnel, both members and guests under a loose Robert's Rules of Order with simple majority rules. We have an annual International Conference and Regional Workshops.

History
The International Latino Gang Investigator's Association (ILGIA) was formally established on January 1, 2002 after continued requests for more information relating to Latino gangs by Law Enforcement, Corrections, and the local community. Previously, the group was informally known as the Latino Gangs Listbot. We are a specialized group with some of the best investigators in the world! ILGIA would like to thank the other gang investigator associations that have helped us. We support you also! Working together better, we all can make a difference!

Our Goal
ILGIA is committed to providing valuable and current information, and establishing a network between the ILGIA membership, fellow associations, and criminal justice agencies. ILGIA has a general public website and a members only secure listbot to provide up-to-date regional intelligence information on gangs, related issues, state-of-the-art training, and special feature articles. The association will also aggressively seek information about the international drug trade directly associated with Latino gangs. We are non-profit!

Mission Statement
The mission of the ILGIA is to respond to the proliferation of gangs in our society, especially in the Chicano/Latino community. ILGIA will increase the awareness of gangs in our society, and assist law enforcement and related agencies in a cooperative effort to combat gang activity in all areas where it exists. ILGIA will hold quarterly regional meetings and will have regional and national training seminars.
